BENTON COUNTY Aline Olivia Blunk Branstetter
Aline Olivia Blunk Branstetter, 95, of Anderson, Mo., died Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at the Golden Living Center in Anderson. She was born Oct. 11, 1913, in Galena, Mo., to Allen W. Blunk and Laura Elizabeth Compton Blunk.
She married Levi Branstetter on June 4, 1932. She was a homemaker. Her formal education ended with the eighth grade, but she read and educated herself on a variety of topics, including the Bible. She was active in the community and was a charter member of the New Bethel Church, northwest of Anderson, where she taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School classes, and participated in parties and outings with the church youth. She also wrote and directed special programs at the church. For many years, she maintained perfect church attendance, for which she received several awards. She and her husband sponsored a gospel music record by the New Bethel Singers in 1979, which was sold throughout the area and by Silver Dollar City.
She lived at the Golden Living Center for many years with her sisters, Delsie and Tressie.
She was chosen to go to Springfield, Mo., to represent the McDonald County (Mo.) Nursing Center in a beauty pageant for the residents. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, music, raising flowers and making crafts, including dolls, doll clothes and doll furniture, which she gave to area children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Levi Branstetter; and six siblings, Delsie Chaney, Ethel Nichols, TressieChandler, Dorothy Stegall, Pauline Blunk and William "Jiggs" Blunk.
Survivors include a daughter, Lolly Armstrong and her fiance Joel Williams of Harker Heights, Texas; a granddaughter, Tara Armstrong Garay of Texas; four nieces, Brenda Thomas and Debbie Brower, both of Anderson, Dorena Crosby of Hardin, Mo., and Leah Jean Jackson of Goodman, Mo.; and four nephews, the Rev. James Allen Nichols of Kansas City, Mo., Virgil Stegall of Scott City, Kan., Allen Blunk of Rogers, Ark., and Nick Giberti of Goodman.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 1, at the New Bethel Church, northwest of Anderson, with Pastor Ronnie Tosh. Burial was in the New Bethel Cemetery. Arrangements were by Ozark Funeral Home of Anderson.
Pallbearers were Joel Williams, Bill Brower, Tony Brower, Darrin Brower, Jacob Brower and Tony Logan.
Memorials may be made to the New Bethel Church Building Fund, in care of Ozark Funeral Home of Anderson.
Quan Chuong Chau
Quan Chuong Chau, 57, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, Aug.
2, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Ark. He was born Oct. 20, 1951, in Saigon, Vietnam, to Xan Chau and Hao Luong.
Survivors include his wife, Vang Phan; a son and daughterin-law, Dang Chau and Thao Chau of Rogers; two daughters, Binh Chau of Rogers and Huong Nguyen of Bentonville, Ark.; a sister, Lan Chau of Saigon; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services and cremation arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services.
Floyd Athel Evans
Floyd Athel Evans, 62, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, in Rogers. He was born Nov. 30, 1946, in Grand Junction, Colo., to Floyd Evans and Fern Smith Evans.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include a son, Bobby Evans of Rogers; two daughters, Shenia Harrison of Rogers and Trenia Tooley of Moberly, Mo.; his father, Floyd Evans of Mountain Home, Ark.; a sister, Lowetta Page of Moberly; six grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements were by the Benton County Funeral Home in downtown Rogers.
Memorials may be made to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
Elinore 'Norrie' Bennett Merwin
Elinore "Norrie" Bennett Merwin, 89, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at her home. She was born Jan. 3, 1920, in New Haven, Conn., to Herbert Bennett and Helen Hilse Bennett.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, George Merwin.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the Bland Chapel United Methodist Church, east of Rogers.
Arrangements were by the Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home of Rogers.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Alan Reed Myers
Alan Reed Myers, 56, of Rogers, Ark., died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009. He was born July 15, 1953, in St. Louis, Mo., to Donald G. Myers and Jacqueline Hubert Myers.
After high school, he served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He worked as a machinist for many years. He enjoyed fishing and NASCAR auto racing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Jacqueline Myers.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Myers; a sister, Donna Scott; three daughters; two sons; nine grandchildren; and a greatgranddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home of Rogers.
Andreana Louise Nibbe
Andreana Louise Nibbe, 32, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born March 31, 1977, in Decatur, Ark., to Jerry Nibbe and Laurie Batusic Brucken.
She enjoyed animals, especially horses and had worked as a horse trainer. She had three horses and two dogs. She was a Christian.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Andrew Batusic and Norman Nibbe.
Survivors include her father, Jerry Nibbe of Bella Vista, Ark.;
her mother, Laurie Brucken and her husband Bill Brucken of Rogers; a brother and sister-inlaw, Luke Nibbe and Niki Nibbe of Rogers; her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Batusic of Highfill, Ark.; and her paternal grandmother, Gloria Nibbe of Indiana.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel in Springdale, Ark. Arrangements were by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice that assists in the rescue and recovery of animals.
Ruby Darlene Rounds
Ruby Darlene Rounds, 82, of Pea Ridge, Ark., died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at her home.
She was born Nov. 15, 1926, in Enid, Okla., to Alfred Otis Clark and Dulsa Lou Jones Clark.
She lived in this area most of her life and graduated from Rogers High School in Rogers, Ark. She worked at Howard's Discount in Rogers and retired from the Sears Catalog Store in 1992. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Springdale, Ark. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and going to yard sales.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Rounds.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Judy Darlene France and Tommy France of Pea Ridge; a son, Alan Roy Rounds of Rogers, Ark.; two brothers, Eugene Clark of California and Dean Clark of Mounds, Okla.; four sisters, Melva Varnell of Mena, Ark., Esther Tanner of Claremore, Okla., Joann Copelin of Peculiar, Mo., and Wanda Daniels of Bixby, Okla.; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Tuck's Chapel Cemetery near Avoca, Ark.
Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.

James S. Wilson
James S. Wilson, 65, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark. He was born June 28, 1944, in Tulsa, Okla., to Glenn Wilson and Janie Mitchell Wilson.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in Vietnam. He earned a bachelor's degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla., and a master's degree from Eastern New Mexico University. He was a buyer for Tyson Foods.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Wilson, in 1998; and a son, Trent Tyler Wilson, in 2005.
Survivors include a son, Grant Wilson of Fayetteville, Ark.; a brother, Glenn E. Wilson Jr. of Texas; his mother-inlaw, Martha Stanford of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers-inlaw, Jack Stanford of Earle, Ark., Charles Stanford of Memphis and Johnny Stanford of Knoxville, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the Callison-Lough Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers with Chaplain Allen Tyson. Cremation arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.
