We don’t sell costumes or replicas of demons or witches, etc., and you may be wondering why.

Simply put, the scriptures forbid Halloween.

All occult practices are prohibited by the Lord God Jehovah.

Deuteronomy 18 9-14: 9. When you are come into the land which the LORD your God gives you, you shall not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

10. There shall not be found among you any one that makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that uses divination, or sorcery, or interprets omens, or is a witch, 11. Or casts spells, or is a medium, or a wizard, or consults the dead.

12. For all that do thesethings are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD your God does drive them out from before you. 13. You shall be perfect with the LORD your God. 14. Forthese nations, which you shall possess, hearkened unto sorcerers, and unto diviners: but as for you, the LORD your God has not allowed you so to do.

But we are not serious, you say, Halloween is all in fun. We know that is true, but the kingdom of darkness that is replicated in Halloween is real. Cartoon format doesn’t diminish the fact that very real dark forces exist by an enemy who wants to hurt you.

The scripture says, “…have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” Ephesians 5:11.

And it says, “Neither give place to the devil.” Ephesians 4:27

Plus, “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6.

And again, “Test all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.” I Thessalonians 5:21, 22.

We are facing a swine flu epidemic this fall. We need to be walking in holiness and praying for God’s protection. How many times do disasters befall us, yet we never make a connection that our sin has “given place to the devil?”

The devil comes to kill, steal and destroy, but Jesus comes to give life and to give it more abundantly. Christ offers a way out! God is not glorified when children are sick. God is not glorified when children are poisoned or cut by hidden razor blades.

Let’s honor God and have nothing to do with the unfruitful works of this pagan holiday. Let’s celebrate a fall party for the children in November, but let us avoid participating on this day and let us avoid the very appearance of evil.
