ROGERS Jan Justice Barbee
Jan Justice Barbee, 50, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, following a brief battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 1, 1959, in Neodesha, Kan., to Don Justice and Joan Justice.
She graduated in 1977 from Neodesha High School, where she was active in the marching band and held a number of club leadership roles. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Neodesha, where she played the piano and organ. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1981 from Pittsburg (Kan.) State University, where she was a Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority sister. She married David Barbee on May 22, 1982, in Neodesha. After the couple's first daughter was born, the family moved to Rogers. The couple took over a family business, Barbee Equipment Inc. She assisted in financial and managerial duties. She attended the First Baptist Church of Rogers, where she helped with the Mothers Day Out and the children's choir. She enjoyed sewing and needlework, such as cross-stitching and smocking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Joan Justice.
Survivors include her husband, David Barbee; two daughters and a son-in-law, Megan Ishee and Dustin Ishee, and Kristin Barbee; two brothers and sisters-inlaw, Jay Justice and Georgia Justice of Rogers and Jon Justice and Janice Justice of Beaumont, Texas; seven nieces; three nephews; four great-nieces; and two greatnephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 1, at Rollins Funeral Home with the Rev. Ben Rowell. Burial was at the Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.

Matthew Kieth Dague, Jr.
Matthew Kieth Dague, Jr., 28, of Rogers, Ark., died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009. He was born Dec. 31, 1980, in San Luis Obispo, Calif., to Matthew Dague and Traci Campbell Wickham.
At the age of eight, he moved with his family to the Rogers area. He attended junior college and for the last few years worked in construction.
He was preceded in death by his father, Matthew Dague, Sr., and grandmothers, Judy Dague and Barbara Wickham.
Survivors include his mother, Traci Campbell of Garfield, Ark.; a brother and sister-in-law, David Casares and Amy Casares of Bentonville, Ark.; a sister, Amanda Casares of Bentonville; his grandfather, David Wickham of Washburn, Mo.; three nephews, Daniel, Cruz, and Cooper; two nieces, Meegan Casares of Diamond, Mo. and Addyson of Bentonville.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were by Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home in Rogers.
Betty Jean Franklin
Betty Jean Franklin, 84, of Lowell, Ark., died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. She was born Jan. 10, 1925, in Cimarron, Okla., to Homer Thomas and Lena Thomas.
She married Robert L. "Bob" Franklin on Sept. 19, 1947. She was a homemaker and worked for Daisy Manufacturing Co. She left her job at Daisy in 1972 to take care of her granddaughter, Robyn. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lowell. She enjoyed crocheting, working crossword puzzles, playing cards and traveling, and took several cruises in the Caribbean.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. "Bob" Franklin.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Thrasher and David Thrasher of Rogers, Ark., and Peggy Cannon and Mike Cannon of Montgomery, Texas; three brothers, Vernal Thomas of Sandy, Utah, and Bobby Thomas and Jimmy Thomas, both of La Pine, Ore.; a sister, Phyllis Leslie of Knoxville, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Robyn Schaub of Dallas, Texas; two grandsons, Brian Cannon and Sean Cannon, both of Houston, Texas; and two great-granddaughters, Avery Schaub and Cecily Schaub, both of Dallas.
A celebration of life was held Friday, Oct. 2, at the First Baptist Church in Lowell with Brother Gary Thomas and Brother Ben Rowell. A private graveside service was held at the Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers, Ark. Arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Home of Rogers.

Larry Pearson Harris
Larry Pearson Harris, 27, of Gravette, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Ozarks Community Hospital in Gravette. He was born July 23, 1982, in Gravette to James M. Harris and Carol Urchison Harris.
He was a brick mason and a member of the First Baptist Church in Gravette.
Survivors include a daughter, Kira Bahorich of Las Vegas, Nev.; his parents, James and Carol Harris of Gravette; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Bryan Harris and Dawn Harris of Rogers, Ark., Luke Hamilton of Bentonville, Ark., and Robert Harris of Fort Riley, Kan.; two sisters and a brotherin-law, Meredith Bramel and Matt Bramel of Sulphur Springs, Ark., and Brandy Harris of Independence, Mo.; his grandparents, George and Edith Urchison of Sulphur Springs; two uncles, Don Harris of Gravette and George "Sonny" Urchison of Howe, Okla.; and an aunt, Julie Down of Tulsa, Okla.
Private funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 2, at the First Baptist Church in Gravette with Pastor Glenn Bertrand. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark.

Thomas D. Hicks
Thomas D. Hicks, 60, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, in Bentonville, Ark. He was born April 16, 1949, in Nowata, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Jr. Hicks.
Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Hicks; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom Hicks and Christine Hicks; a daughter and son-in-law, Tamara Jabions and Dr. David Jabions; his mother, Dee Barry; a brother, Danny Hicks; two sisters, Carol and Sheryl; two grandsons, Hunter Hicks and Jacob Hicks; two granddaughters, Josephine Jabions and Emeila Jabions; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 5 at the Rogers First Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
Carol Sue Kenneally
Carol Sue Kenneally, 62, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at her home. She was born Feb. 28, 1947, in Knoxville, Tenn., to James B. Akins and June Brewer Akins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Matthew Kenneally.
Survivors include a son, Shaun Kenneally of Rogers; a daughter, Karolyn Kenneally of Rogers; and a brother, James R. Akins of Carrolton, Texas.
Cremation arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.
Margaret Catherine Mack
Margaret Catherine Mack, 83, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, Ark. She was born Aug. 15, 1926, in Irvington, N.J., to Daniel Paul Kerr and Margaret Kohms Kerr.
She married Carl J. Mack on Sept. 15, 1946, at St. Mary's Church in Roselle Park, N.J. She worked as a beauty supply store manager, setting up stores for a chain in Orange County, Calif. She moved to Bella Vista 10 years ago from Anaheim, Calif.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Paul Kerr Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Carl J. Mack; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Gail Allen and William Allen of Rogers, Ark.; two grandchildren, Amanda McGinty and Kimberly Allen; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Sigurdson and Logan McGinty; a niece, Cathy Kerr; and a nephew, Danny Kerr.
A memorial service was held Monday, Oct. 5, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel.

Waunita McKinney
Waunita McKinney, 97, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. She was born Oct. 24, 1911, in Grove, Okla., to George Thomas and Anna Thomas.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church of Rogers, where she was active in the Seekers Sunday school class.
Survivors include a daughter, Norma Easterling of Rogers; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 2, at the First Christian Church of Rogers with the Rev. Shawn Wallace. Burial was at the Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.

Francis William Oliver
Francis William Oliver, 84, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, Sept. 28, 2009.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 2, at the Southside Church of Christ with Jackie Chesnutt. Burial was at the Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.
John D. Rogers
John D. Rogers, 95, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. He was born July 1, 1914, in Mayfield, Ky., to Thurman Rogers and Delilah Waldrop Rogers.
He was a former resident of Peoria, Ill. He retired after 15 years of service as a district manager for Oakstate Bakery. He moved to northwest Arkansas in 1979 from Orland Park, Ill. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bentonville, Ark. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, woodworking, camping, traveling and wintering in Arizona and the Valley region of Texas. He also enjoyed the arts, especially music and oil painting
Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Eleanor Rogers; two daughters and sons-inlaw, Marilyn Martens and Don Martens of Bentonville, Ark., and Judy Tilley and Bob Tilley of Tremont, Ill.; a sister, Helen Wagner of Mesa, Ariz.; five grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Swan Lake Memory Gardens Chapel in Peoria, Ill. Arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Hailey Marie Shields
Hailey Marie Shields, infant daughter of Shawn Shields and Melina Cowles Shields of Rogers, Ark., was born and died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, in Rogers.
Survivors include her parents; three brothers, Dakota Shields, Zachary Shields and Joeseph Shields; her grandparents, Jesse and Julie Shields of Rogers, Justin and Tammy Shields of Carthage, Mo., and Robin Dodson of Purdy, Mo.; and her greatgrandparents, Kenneth Cole of Carthage and Frances Maggard of Joplin, Mo.
Graveside services were held Friday, Oct. 2, in Babyland at the Rogers Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Benton County Funeral Home in downtown Rogers.
Florence Welborn
Florence Welborn, 85, of Bentonville, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, in Springdale, Ark. She was born Nov. 7, 1923, in Bazine, Kan., to John Henry Krug and Suzanna Schlegel Krug.
For several years, she ironed clothing and cleaned homes. She was also employed by Emerson Electric from 1967 to 1987. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rogers, Ark. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters at McDonald's.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry A. Welborn Sr., on March 28, 1997; a sister; and seven brothers.
Survivors include four sons, Henry A. Welborn Jr. of Faxon, Okla., Ronald G. Welborn and Robert L. Welborn, both of Bentonville, and John E. Welborn of Rogers, Ark.; a daughter, Judy Johnson of Liberty Hill, Texas; a brother, John Krug of Woodland, Calif.; four sisters, Bertha Roller and Helen Weiser, both of Rogers, Mildred Mallen of Sacramento, Calif., and Viola Leppell of San Jose, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 1, at the First Baptist Church in Rogers with the Rev. Ben Rowell. Burial was at the Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers. Arrangements were by Benton County Funeral Home in downtown Rogers.
Pallbearers were Sammy Welborn, Sam Welborn, Weldon Dean, H.K. Knox, Dean Roller and Grant Merriman.

Burlin Dean Witcher
Burlin Dean Witcher, 58, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, in Rogers. He was born July 12, 1951, in California to Burl H. Witcher and Hazel Rader Brown Witcher.
He was self-employed.
Survivors include his wife, Dora Martinez Witcher; a son, Burlin Dean Witcher of Fayetteville, Ark.; a sister, Judy Kay Sandoval; a brother, Leroy Witcher; and a granddaughter, Madison Witcher.
Cremation arrangements were by the Benton County Funeral Home in downtown Rogers.
Robert Oliver Ziegler
Robert Oliver Ziegler, 89, of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. He was born Dec. 20, 1919 in Aurora, Ill., to Oliver and Mary Ruth (Mack) Ziegler.
Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn (Mitchell) Ziegler of the home; five children, Dr. Bob Ziegler and wife Nancy of Rogers, Rev. Bill Ziegler and wife Kendra of Fargo, N.D., Barry Ziegler and wife Maureen of Burnsville, Minn., Dr. Richard "Buzz" Ziegler and wife Mary of Toledo, Ohio, and Marianne Ziegler-Gasmen of Rogers; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Rogers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at First United Methodist Church in Rogers with the Rev. David Bentley.
Burial will be at a later date near Chicago, Ill. Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home in downtown Rogers.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Rogers.
