ROGERS Kathlyn M. Atkins
Kathlyn M. Atkins, 92, of Rogers, Ark., died Oct. 10, 2009, in Springdale, Ark.
She was born April 13, 1917, in Hutchison, Kan., to Harry Albert and Olive Ethel Munson Watts.
She owned and operated restaurants for many years and worked at Brown’s Shoe Store for 12 years. She attended Sunnyside Baptist Church in Rogers.
Survivors include a son, Jimmie Dee Atkins of Rogers; a daughter, Jeanne Garris of Rogers; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and three nieces.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 11 a.m. in the Bluff Cemetery in Springdale, Ark., with Rev. Marvin Stephens andJohn Atkins. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.
Memorials may be made to the Sunnyside Baptist Church of Rogers.
Thomas Milton Hoffman Thomas Milton Hoffman, 85, of Rogers, Ark., died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at Heritage Park Nursing Home in Rogers. He was born Jan. 30, 1924, in Detroit, Mich., to Sam Hoffman and Rose Klein Hoffman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Reece Hoffman, in 2007.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at the Bella Vista Community Church in Bella Vista, Ark. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.
Howard Hufman Howard Hufman, 68, of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at his home.
He was born July 11, 1941, in Alamosa, Colo.
He was employed by Daisy Manufacturing Co. for 20 years, then retired from Tyson Foods in 2007. He attended the First Baptist Church in Rogers.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ivan Ira Hufman; and by his parents, Kirby Huckabee and Ruby Whiting Huckabee.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Virginia Hufman; a daughter and son-in-law, Tabitha Bradshaw and George Bradshaw of Fayetteville, Ark.; a sister and brother-in-law, Jean Edgeworth and Clarence Edgeworth of Rogers; three grandchildren, Bradley Foster, Amber Bradshaw and Rebecca Bradshaw; and several nieces and nephews, including Keith and Trudy Edgeworth of Rogers and Linda and Craig Terry of Seattle, Wash.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 12, at the Callison-Lough Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tommy Hinson. Burial was at the Rambo Cemetery in eastern Benton County, Ark.
Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.
Aaron M. McDermott Aaron M. McDermott,35, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009. He was born March 8, 1974, in Humboldt,Iowa, to Michael L. Mc-Dermott and Ruth Bird McDermott.
He worked in sales at Meeks for 15 years. He enjoyed all sports, especially football and baseball.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Melissa McDermott; two sons, Corbyn Michael McDermott and Chandler Ray McDermott; his father, Michael McDermott and his wife Linda McDermott of Lu Verne, Iowa; his mother, Ruth Kennicker ofBella Vista, Ark.; his maternal grandparents, Gordon and Esther Brock of Humboldt, Iowa; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph McDermott and Kristan McDermott of Lu Verne;
and a sister, Lisa Johnson of Bella Vista.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 8, at KeyPoint Church, 1710 S.W. Commerce Drive in Bentonville, Ark., with Pastor Shane Roth. Burial was at the Rogers Cemetery. Arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.
Memorials may be made to the Aaron McDermott Memorial Fund, an educational scholarship fund for Corbyn and Chandler McDermott, at any Arvest Bank.
