— Celebrity neighbor Rogers residents, be proud! You have quite a celebrity for a neighbor.

Mrs. Lois Bouton is known most affectionately to active duty and retired Coast Guard members as “The Coast Guard Lady.”She knows the Coast Guard well, having served on active duty during WWII.

For the past several decades Lois has taken up the unusual hobby of sending post card greetings to a number of Coast Guard units to celebrate various holidays, andof course to celebrate Coast Guard Day.

It has been estimated that she sends well over 1,000 post cards and letters each year, but Lois hasn’t kept count.

Sometime during this month of September, Loiswill celebrate her 90th birthday, but she hasn’t revealed the actual date. She would just like to celebrate it during the entire month, hoping to receive birthday wishes from the Coast Guard community. Wouldn’t it be great if she also received birthdaygreetings from her Rogers neighbors?

You could honor The Coast Guard Lady with a card sent to her at 1616 South 16th Street, Rogers 72758.
