— Lorene Bell Atwood

Lorene Bell Atwood, 94, of Sand Springs, Okla., formerly of Rogers, Ark., died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at her daughter’s home in Sand Springs. She was born Nov. 2, 1914, in Okemah, Okla., to Alfred Musgrove and Beatrice Steele Musgrove.

She graduated from Clayton (N.M.) High School. She married James Atwood Jr. on April 13, 1946, in Clayton. She attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Rogers. She had also attended Calvary Baptist Church in Sand Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Atwood Jr., in June 1981; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Milner and Terry Milner of Sand Springs; two sisters, Wanda Dromgoole of Texas and Dorothy Brubaker of Utah; two brothers, Guy Musgrove of Colorado and Al Musgrove of Texas; five grandchildren, Andrew Milner of Syracuse, N.Y., Alex Milner of Sapulpa, Okla., and Austin Milner, Alli Milner and Zach Milner, all of Sand Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, Texas, with Pastor Gary Ferguson. A memorial service was held Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Grace Community Fellowship in Sand Springs with Dr. Alex Campbell. Arrangements were by Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

Winnie Bramlett

Winnie Bramlett, 90, of Gentry, Ark., died Monday, Oct. 12, 2009. She was born March 24, 1919, in Frankell, Texas, to Joe Wilson and Mary Davidson Wilson.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Centerton, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Lewis Bramlett; and a son, Rusty Bramlett.

Survivors include two daughters, Xantha Platt of Gentry and Linda Darst of Rogers, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and 14 greatgrandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Monday, Oct. 19, at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Bentonville, Ark.

Patricia ‘Pat’ M. Endicott

Patricia “Pat” M. Endicott, 62, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at Circle of Life Hospice Home in Springdale, Ark. She was born Oct. 17, 1946, in Evanston, Ill., to Arthur F. Goettler and Elizabeth M. Goettler.

She was an 18-year employee of Wal-Mart. She owned and operated House of Threads, a craft business. She was an active member of the Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rogers. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddy Rae Endicott.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Chris Endicott and Christine Endicott of Rogers; a sister, Carol A. Myers and her partner Michael Montalbano of Chicago, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Kourtney and Kirsten.

A memorial service was held Friday, Oct. 16, at the Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rogers with Pastor Brian Timmons. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.

Memorials may be made to the Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rogers; or to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762.

Franklin LeRoy ‘Frank’ Frieholtz

Franklin LeRoy “Frank” Frieholtz, 75, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, in Wrightsville, Ark. He was born Dec. 18, 1933, in Atchison, Kan., to Harry A. Frieholtz and Thelma Phelps Frieholtz.

He was a truck driver and enjoyed making leather goods and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Frieholtz; a daughter, Yvonne Edmundson of Rogers; five stepchildren, Gary Gurwell of Muskogee, Okla., Fred Gurwell, Gail Callison and Mark Gurwell, all of Rogers, and Debra Gurwell of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother; four sisters; 16 grandchildren; and 40 greatgrandchildren.

Arrangements are by Benton County Funeral Home in downtown Rogers.

Sarah Christine Marler

Sarah Christine Marler, 68, of Washburn, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, at Ashley Health and Rehabilitation in Rogers, Ark. She was born June 2, 1941, in Black Oak, Ark., to William Ernest Bond and Florie May Payne Bond.

She married Franklin Dee Marler on Sept. 1, 1957, in Springdale, Ark. She was a department floor leader at an arts and crafts factory for several years. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Pea Ridge, Ark. She enjoyed flower gardening and caring for her pets.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Baily Marler; and a sister, Carol Bolain.

Survivors include her husband, Dee Marler; a daughter and son-in-law, Dee Ann Decker and Richard Decker of Washburn; three sons and daughtersin-law, James Franklin Marler and Shirley Marler, and Robert Dwayne Marler and Tammy Marler, all of Ozark, Mo., and Larry Dale Marler and Kim Marler of Lowell, Ark.; a sister, Mary Ann Decker of Springdale, Ark.; three brothers, Joe Bond of Mammoth Springs, Ark., Billy Bond of Springdale and Danny Wayne Bond of Rogers, Ark.; 21 grandchildren; and 23 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Westside Baptist Church in Pea Ridge with Pastor Anthony Lane and Pastor Euel Bilderback. Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge, Ark.

Rita Jean Murguia

Rita Jean Murguia, 34, of Lowell, Ark., died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, Ark. She was born Jan. 5, 1975, in Tahlequah, Okla., to William H. Baldridge and Rosa Lee Christie Baldridge.

She married Evaristo Murguia on Sept. 29, 1995, in Stilwell, Okla. She was an assembly worker for Allen Canning Co. in Siloam Springs, Ark. She enjoyed fishing.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Lee Baldridge; and a brother, Jeffery Don Grimmett.

Survivors include her husband, Evaristo Murguia of Mexico; her father, William H. Baldridge of Stilwell, Okla.; a son, Evaristo Murguia II of Lowell; two sisters, Vickie Baldridge of Tahlequah, Okla., and Donna Ice of Lowell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Clear Springs Cemetery in Stilwell, Okla. Arrangements are by the Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home of Rogers, Ark.

Deborah L. Reed

Deborah L. Reed, 59, of Rogers, Ark., died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, in Springdale, Ark. She was born July 26, 1950, in California to James Beeson and Margaret Bolton Beeson.

She was a school-bus driver for 25 years in California.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Reed; a son, James Silvis of California; a daughter, Deah Marie Cagle of Rogers; her parents, James Beeson of Missouri and Margaret Pratt of Rogers; two sisters, Patty Yattaw and Nancy Orgill, both of California; and three grandchildren, Cheyenne Silvis, Brenden Hudson and Rylee Cagle.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Benton County Funeral Home in downtown Rogers with Pastor Jim Keith.

John Everett Tate Jr.

John Everett “Tate” Tate Jr., 89, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009. He was born Dec. 20, 1919, in Winston Salem, N.C., to John Everett Tate Sr. and Bertha Lee Butler Tate.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 11 years, Evelyn Tate; a son, Craig Tate; and a sister, Jewell Elizabeth.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, John Tate III and Fran Tate of Tucson, Ariz., Truett Tate and Dorthe Tate of London, England, and Mark Tate and Lynnette Tate of Vail, Ariz.; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard Tate and Jeanette Tate of Kernersville, N.C.; three stepchildren, Bill Brown and his wife Erin Brown of Omaha, Neb., C. Michael Piatt and his wife Beth Piatt of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jackie Spedding of Rogers, Ark.; and many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

A celebration of life was held Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista. Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Ann Barkley Tedford

Elizabeth “Beth” Ann Barkley Tedford, 68, of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. She was born Sept. 28, 1941, in Littlefield, Texas, to Robert Leon Gee and Stella Mae Parker Gee.

She was preceded in death by a son, Lance Barkley; and a stepbrother, Eddie Ray Pugh.

Survivors include her husband Dwayne Tedford of Rogers; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Roughton and Robbie Roughton, and Stella Barkley and husband Jim; five grandchildren and three great-grandsons.

Cremation arrangements by Epting Funeral Home of Bentonville, Ark.

Lowell D. Thomas

Lowell D. Thomas, 62, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, in Rogers. He was born Aug. 1, 1947, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Carl Thomas and Dorothy Fender Thomas.

He was in the U.S. Army and served two tours in Vietnam. He was a truck dispatcher.

Survivors include his wife, Mary O’Brien Thomas; two sons, Anthony Thomas of Siloam Springs, Ark., and Eddie Ray Thomas of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Sarah Thomas of Rogers; three sisters, Donnae Blake of Corpus Christi, Texas, Bonnie Ferber of Monarch Beach, Calif., and Sandra Geudtner of Lake Forrest, Ill.; and a grandson, Christopher.

Cremation arrangements were by the Benton County Funeral Home in downtown Rogers.

Harold W. ‘Tommy’ Thompson

Harold W. “Tommy” Thompson, 82, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at his home. He was born Dec. 12, 1926, in Fayetteville, Ark., to U.B. Thompson and Dora Lois Wilson.

He was a resident of Kansas City for 50 years. After graduating from high school, he was drafted and served with the 182nd Airborne in Fort Bragg, N.C., as an Army paratrooper. He was honorably discharged in 1946. After returning home, he worked for Ford Motor Co. for 35 years before retiring. He moved to Rogers in 1991. As a member of Central United Methodist Church in Rogers, he participated in various activities. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, where he was a 32nd-degree Mason.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nona Smith Thompson. at St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, Mo. He was born Sept. 6, 1915, in Macon, Mo., to Hugo Will and Minnie Garfield Will.

He established credit bureaus in 16 U.S. states. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a captain in the Office of Strategic Services in the North African and European theaters. In his later years, he mastered the use of computers and the Internet. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Rogers, Ark., for 62 years and a member of Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. He was an avid sports fan, especially a Razorbacks fan.

Survivors include his wife, Freda Anderson Will; a stepson, Russell Anderson of Springdale, Ark.; a nephew, Strad Will of Rogers, Ark.; and a great-nephew, Danner Will.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Central United Methodist Church Memorial Chapel in Fayetteville with the Rev. J. Anthony Holifield. Arrangements were by Moore’s Funeral Chapel of Fayetteville.

Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 696, Fayetteville, AR 72702.

Survivors include his wife, Janet L. Thompson; two daughters, Kathy Lang of Kansas City, Mo., and Pattie Pretti of Independence, Mo.; three stepdaughters, Karyn Sherar and her husband Jeff Sherar of Rogers, Diana Storey of Mount Juliet, Tenn., and Linda Vincent of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Sunday, Oct. 18, at Central United Methodist Church in Rogers with the Rev. Jim Keith and the Rev. Dawn Spragg. Arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.
