Teens

Halloween Carnival from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 29. Celebrate Halloween with fun, games and prizes. Join us for Cake Walk, Bingo, Costume Contest, Mummy Wrapping Contest, Musical Monster Chairs, Halloween Word Scramble.

Monday Night Bookies Book Club begins at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 9. Boys and girls in grades three through seven are invited to share excellent books, a great discussion and snacks. Parents, guardians or other adult family members are encouraged to participate. The book to be discussed is The Get Rich Club, by Dan Gutman.

Family

Saturday Story Time begins at 2 p.m. Oct. 31. This week’s theme is spooky stories. This time is for the whole family with story and craft. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

Family Story Time begins at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 3. Come and join us for a fun family story time that’s filled with stories, songs and rhymes. This week’s theme focuses on places where people work. This program is for the entire family. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

Crafts

Crafty Creators begins at 6 p.m. Nov. 2. Come join us for an hour filled with creation and imagination. Join us this week and make your own pumpkin weaving craft. This program is best for ages 5 and up. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

Preschool Story Time begins at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 28. This week’s Preschool Story Time with Ms. Rebecca will feature stories, songs and rhymes about Halloween. For ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers. A craft will follow.

Toddler Story Time begins at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 29. This week, Toddler Story Time with Ms. Rebecca will feature Halloween. Join us for stories, songs and rhymes. For ages 2 to 3 and their caregivers.

Baby Play and Rhyme Time begins at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 29. Introduce your little one to the library with this special program. This week’s theme is Halloween. Join Ms. Kathleen for books, rhymes and songs. For babies up to 2 years old and their caregivers.

For more information, call the library at 621-1152. SPOTLIGHT Cabaret returns to NWACC

The Flying Tomato Cabaret returns to the campus of Northwest Arkansas Community College beginning on Nov. 6 this fall. The show will run Nov. 6, 7, 8 and 13, 14, 15 with shows at 7 p.m. each evening in the college’s Shewmaker Center.

The event is the twiceyearly fundraiser of the NWACC Chamber Singers, the school’s select vocal ensemble. Funds raised from the show pay for annual tours by the singers.

At the Cabaret, members of the NWACC Chamber Singers will serve as singing waiters, offering an evening of spaghetti and Broadway. Tickets for the show are $15 and can be reserved at 619-4261 or by e-mail at scooper@nwacc. edu. No tickets are sold at the door.

‘Beer and Salsa’

Julie Wait Designs Gallery in association with Poor Richard’s Art features photographs by John Murdoch Nov. 5 through Jan. 5. A “Beer and Salsa” artist reception will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov 20.

The gallery is located at 318 S. First in Rogers and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday by appointment.

Casino Night

The fourth annual Ryan Murphy Casino Night will be held Nov. 21, at the Elks Lodge in Rogers. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds will go to the Cancer Support Home’s coloncancer outreach program, which helps residents of Benton and Washington counties receive colon-cancer-prevention information, diagnostic screenings and patient-support services.

Volunteer opportunities are still available. Pre-event opportunities include procuring silent auction items, event planning and set-up the day of the event. Volunteer opportunities at the event include registration; dealers for craps, roulette and black jack; checkout; and breakdown.
