— Harry Wayne Ford

Harry Wayne Ford, 74, of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at his home. He was born March 11, 1935, in Bentonville, Ark., to Harry Ray Ford and Minnie Rae "Jackie" Dollar Ford.

He served in Germany with the U.S. Army during the Suez crisis. He worked at Daisy Manufacturing Co. and Emerson Electric and retired from Wal-Mart Warehouse No. 8.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Don Ford and Joe David Ford; a sister, Mary Lou Lawson; and an infant daughter, Hope Christian Ford.

Survivors include his wife, RosaLee Gabbard Ford; two sons, Jeffery J. Ford and Michael Wayne Ford, both of Rogers; a daughter and son-in-law, Christel Denice Herbert and Mike Herbert of Rogers; and two granddaughters.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Rogers Cemetery. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.

Gary Dean Freeman

Gary Dean Freeman, 65, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, in Ponca, Ark. He was born Feb. 3, 1944, in Plymouth, Ind. to Roy Freeman and Helen Hoover Freeman.

He was a deputy for the Benton County (Ark.) Sheriff's Office. He enjoyed hiking, kayaking and riding motorcycles.

Survivors include five sons and four daughters-inlaw, Eric Freeman of Bella Vista, Ark., Neil Freeman and Stacee Freeman, and Kevin Freeman and Sheryl Freeman, all of Bentonville, Ark., Brian Freeman and Wendy Freeman of Portsmouth, Va., and Steven Freeman and Christina Freeman of Norfolk, Va.; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Lambert and Jake Lambert of Bentonville; his parents, Roy and Helen Freeman of South Bend, Ind.; a sister, Shirley Braner of South Bend; six grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 4, at the Callison-Lough Funeral Home Chapel in Bentonville, Ark.

Inez Marie Rivers Harbison, 90, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009, in Rogers. She was born Oct. 11, 1918, in Green Township, Ind., to Clifford Kelso Rivers and Mary Jane Presslor Rivers.

She married Clyde L. Harbison of Russelville, Ind., on Sept. 28, 1940. After World War II, the couple moved to Rapid City, S.D., where they lived the majority of their lives. She worked for Rushmore Mutual Life Insurance Co., the United Service Organizations and the libraries of the Rapid City School System. She was active in the School of Mines Faculty Wives Club for many years. After retiring, she took up painting and was active in the painting community. She attended Grace Baptist Church in Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde L. Harbison; two brothers, Leland Rivers and Barton Rivers; a sister, Ruth Elaine Cox; and a grandson, Michael L. Murner.

Survivors include two daughters, Marie Elaine "Cookie" Benton of Rapid City, S.D., and Mary Evelyn "Marily" Teeter of Garfield, Ark.; four sisters, Louise Booe of Hillsboro, Ind., Vera White of Bellmore, Ind., Joyce Osburn of Indianapolis, Ind., and Janice Hall of Kankakee, Ill.; two brothers, Merrill Rivers of Indianapolis and Herschel Rivers of Danbury, Ill; two grandsons, Scott A. Murner of Hermosa, S.D., and Cameron A. Teeter of Cumming, Ga.; and three great-granddaughters, Kara Murner of Rapid City and Morgan Teeter and Ellen Teeter, both of Cumming.

Burial was at the Pine Lawn Cemetery in Rapid City, S.D.

Cremation arrangements are by the Benton County Funeral Home in downtown Rogers.

Geoffrey Owen Kimbro

Geoffrey Owen Kimbro, 28, of Rogers, Ark., died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, in Rogers. He was born Jan. 15, 1981, in Torrance, Calif., to George Wesley Kimbro III and Linda King Kimbro.

He graduated with a degree in Computer Information Systems and received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Louisiana in Monroe. He worked in the Information Systems Division of Wal-Mart as a program analyst.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Wesley Kimbro III.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Linda Kimbro-Nelson and Dick Nelson of Monroe, La.; a brother, George Kimbro IV of Camarillo, Calif.; his maternal grandparents, Alvin and Cora King of West Monroe, La.; and his paternal grandfather, George Kimbro II of Hemet, Calif.

A memorial service was held Friday, Sept. 4, at Word of Life Fellowship in Bentonville, Ark. Burial will be at a later date at the Ivy Lawn Cemetery in Ventura, Calif. Arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.

Elwanda G. McGarrah

Elwanda G. McGarrah, 76, of Lowell, Ark., died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, in Rogers, Ark. She was born April 10, 1933, in Garden City, Kan., to Burtchard Moody and Myrtle Moody.

She was retired from Cargill and was a member of the Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include her husband, Manuel McGarrah; and a son, Michael McGarrah of Lowell.

Graveside services were held Friday, Sept. 4, at the Bentonville Cemetery in Bentonville, Ark. Arrangements were by the Benton County Funeral Home in downtown Rogers, Ark.

Howard Isreal Putnam

Howard Isreal Putnam, 95, of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at Bradford House in Bentonville, Ark. He was born June 12, 1914, in Ponca, Neb., to Isaac Franklin Putnam and Mary Alice Merritt Putnam.

He was in the construction business for many years. He worked for the University of California Riverside for several years. For the past four years, he lived with his son, Michael Putnam, in Rogers. He enjoyed bowling and woodcrafts.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Putnam, in 2002.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Putnam and Dee Putnam of Rogers, and Matthew "Nick" Putnam and Lois Putnam of Riverside, Calif.; a daughter and sonin-law, Joan Mickelson and Robert Mickelson of Peoria, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service was held at the Resurrection Cemetery and Mausoleum in Montebello, Calif. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers. Janet Denise Sykes

Janet Denise Sykes, 46, of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, in Rogers. She was born July 9, 1963, in Tulsa, Okla., to Lester Erwin and Jo-Etta Erwin.

She married Daryl Sykes on March 6, 2004, in Yukon, Okla. She was a cosmetologist at Super Cuts and attended the New Hope Nazarene Church in Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Erwin and JoEtta Erwin.

Survivors include her husband, Daryl Sykes; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ryan Minyen, and Jon Minyen and Elise Minyen, all of Moore, Okla.; two stepsons, Daryl Sykes Jr. and Joseph Sykes, both of Yukon, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Katie Dokes and her husband Tyler Dokes of Yukon; and two grandchildren, Tyler Minyen of Moore and Cameron Dokes of Yukon.

Graveside services were Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Bell Cemetery in West Siloam Springs, Okla. Arrangements were by Benton County Funeral Home in downtown Rogers. Emma J. Thomas

Emma J. Thomas, 75, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. She was born Feb. 27, 1934, in Rogers to Uel Trotter and Emma Chippeaux Trotter.

She worked for Daisy Manufacturing Co. for seven years and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Thomas; a brother, Joseph Barton; and two sisters, Grace Caldwell and Rosalee Roughten.

Survivors include a son, James David Thomas of Rogers; a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Slaughter of Rogers; a brother, William Trotter of Pea Ridge, Ark.; and two grandchildren, Shelbi Renee Slaughter and Nicholas Gordon Slaughter, both of Rogers.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Callison-Lough Funeral Home Chapel with Landon Sartin. Burial was at the Mc-Daniel Cemetery in Rogers. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.

Ann Marie Vo, 49, of Pea Ridge, Ark., died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at her home. She was born June 17, 1960, in North Bend, Wash., to Melvin Leonard Kvamso Sr. and Geraldine Waters Kvamso.

She lived in the area most of her life and enjoyed bargain shopping.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Kvamso Sr. and Geraldine Kvamso; an infant son, Adam Binh Vo; and a brother, Danny Kvamso.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Leslie Mc-Daniel and Ryan McDaniel of Bentonville, Ark.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Caley Vo and Haley Vo of Lowell, Ark., Elijah Vo and Ebannie Vo of Fort Worth, Texas, and Lucas Vo of Fayetteville, Ark.; three brothers, Francis B. Wonderlich of Minneapolis, Minn., Melvin Lynn Kvamso Jr. of Eureka Springs, Ark., and Erik Kvamso of Garfield, Ark.; three sisters, Jennifer Gasper of Andover, Kan., Patricia Kay Dean of Grove, Okla., and Tia Hesington of Bella Vista, Ark.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Friday, Sept. 4, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gordon Bezel. Cremation arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.
