The Justice Department has closed its investigation related to failing newspapers in Northwest Arkansas, clearing the way for a joint venture to move forward, officials of Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Inc. and Stephens Media LLC announced.

Governor makes appointment Sandra Warmack of Rogers has been appointed to the Task Force on the Effect of Alzheimer's Disease in Arkansas by Governor Mike Beebe. This is a new board and the appointment expires Jan. 15, 2011. Local business owner attends conference Jeff Salyers, Rogers business owner of Play It Again Sports, has returned from the company's 2009 Summer Conference and Trade Show with insight on how to enhance the local franchise.
